Autumn has arrived and on a whim, you’ve decided to book a stay in a cozy countryside cottage to soak in the start of the season. You find a post for a charming cottage tucked away at the edge of a ‘most definitely not magical forest’ and excitedly start packing your bags. When you arrive at the cottage, you unlock the door and bring your things inside. The cottage is snug, but cozy with a quaint stone fireplace, precarious stacks of old books and a folded pile of chunky knit blankets. Since it’s still early afternoon and the sun is shining, you decide to wander into the little village nearby to visit the local shops and perhaps find a small souvenir to remember your stay. As you start along the cobblestone path you notice that at the end of the lane, the path diverges. The right leads to the village and the left leads into a mysteriously sun-soaked forest. You glance towards the forest and notice the trees are completely covered in ruby red and gold leaves that almost seem to glimmer in the sunlight. Is that gold dust you see floating in the air? You take a deep breath and feel like you can almost smell the scent of spiced apple and kettle corn drifting through the trees. You know that you really shouldn’t wander into an unknown forest all alone in a new town, but your curiosity is getting the better of you. Which path do you take?
