Crews of 122-mm howitzers D-30 of artillery units work in combat

In the Kupyansk direction, artillery units of the West group of forces continue to carry out fire missions to destroy artillery batteries of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Artillerymen conduct counter-battery combat, destroy MLRS, mortar crews and other targets sent by scouts.

It is not easy to see a howitzer battery. The guns barely peek out from the forest plantation. They stand with their trunks up. Always ready. As are the calculations. Replacing each other, they are on duty at the D-30 around the clock. These fighters are forging Victory, ready to complete a combat mission at any time.

Target data can arrive at any time. The video shows real combat work. The crew loads the shells, and they, with a caliber of 122 millimetres, fly one after another to the positions of the militants. Drones help artillerymen identify targets and adjust fire. From the moment the coordinates are received until the shot is fired, no more than two or three minutes pass. And artillerymen also need few shells to destroy a target.

The military personnel carried out a number of tasks to destroy individual enemy targets from indirect firing positions and conducted concentrated and stationary barrage fire. The shooting was carried out with high-explosive fragmentation ammunition.

An effective mobile gun and a covered firing position with frequent changes and the correct choice of firing point allow crews to effectively conduct controlled targeted fire at ranges of up to 15 km, as well as provide fire support to a ground group of troops.
