Los Angeles County Sheriff, Suicide Cult? FOUR DEAD

Investigators have not said whether they believe the incidents to be connected.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the first victim was a 25-year career veteran Cmdr. Darren Harris. Law enforcement sources said he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Greg Hovland, who had retired from the LASD, meanwhile was identified by local media as the second.

Authorities did not name the third victim but said she worked as a custody assistant at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic. Sources told The Signal the fourth, also unidentified, worked at the North County Correctional Facility in the maximum-security portion of the Pitchess jail.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed any personal information about the officers — including their names.
