A woman is receiving treatment after deputies say she drove her car into the Indian River Lagoon.

The Indian River County Sheriff's Office (IRCSO) said deputies received reports of a woman who drove her car off the Oslo Boat Ramp and into the water on Wednesday. While bystanders tried to help her, the distressed woman refused their help and swam into the river.

The sheriff's office says a detective used a drone to keep a close eye on her until a marine unit arrived and brought her safely back to shore. Video captures the rescue.

"Come over here, we're gonna help you up," one of the deputies told the woman as they pulled her onto the boat.

IRCSO says the woman is currently receiving the necessary mental health treatment at the hospital.
