Special report: Inside Gaza with Israeli forces - BBC News

Israel is claiming that Hamas has lost control of the north of the Gaza Strip after weeks of intensive Israeli bombardment.

Now the BBC's international editor Jeremy Bowen has travelled with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) into Gaza.

While the BBC had editorial control of the report, the section with the IDF has been viewed by them.

The IDF showed the BBC what they said was a Hamas weapons factory, below a home in which children lived.

The area which the BBC was shown was a wasteland, with every building badly damaged or destroyed.
