Michigan: 2 men were charged after a crash that left one person dead during a street racing incident in Pontiac in March.

On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, prosecutors charged Cameron Jack Pickett, an 18-year-old resident of Jackson, and Kody Scott Johnson, a 19-year-old resident of Waterford Township, with Reckless Driving Causing Death and Drag Racing.

Charges stem from an incident that occurred on March 30, 2023, at approximately 9:30 pm in the city of Pontiac at the intersection of South Boulevard and Centerpointe Parkway.

This is an area where street racers have been known to meet. Video obtained by Prosecutors and police above show the crash occurring.

Johnson and Picket were drag racing eastbound on South Boulevard and hit a third vehicle driven by the victim, who was doing “donuts” in the intersection.

The 24-year-old victim was ejected from the vehicle and later died from his injuries.
