Hundreds of police and military personnel entered a maximum-security prison in Ecuador on Wednesday to retake control after two days of clashes between inmates,
The officers of the two forces entered the Litoral Penitentiary in Guayaquil, heavily armed.
Ecuador's penitentiary authority distributed videos and photographs of the operations in which a large group of inmates can be seen lying face down in a courtyard. (AP)
