Men Need To Be Heard Show (Ep:34) How to Deal with Parental Alienation & Custodial Interference

One of the toughest things to navigate as a non-custodial parent (NCP) is dealing with an ex-partner who tries to weaponize the children and use Parental Alienation and Custodial Interference to try and disrupt the relationship between the child and the non-custodial parent.

Many think this is an uncommon, even non-existent issue but as any NCP will tell you it's something they've all had to deal with in some manner and it creates a lot of tension and rancor which doesn't help anyone, most especially the children.

My guest this week is Claudia Ovalles a Marine veteran who had to fight to remain a part of her children's lives and who saw how her current husband had to fight to remain a part of his children's lives.

After seeing the issue Claudia created Heroes For Children's Rights, an organization which is dedicated to bringing awareness of the issues of Parental Alienation as well as Custodial Interference and the devastating effects they can have on the children.

Claudia discusses her lobbying efforts which resulted in the passage of HB969 which is now state law in Texas, which gives local governments the ability to enact regulations and laws to give law enforcement personnel better options when it comes to enforcing court orders and issues with visitation, and custody.

She also gives what I consider a master class on how to effectively lobby and bring about change legislatively as well as why if we want to bring about said change we need to take action to do so.
