As society splinters, panic and fear reign.
As her own world falls apart, Jessie realises she must act.

Maternal Death Syndrome is spreading rapidly and Jessie's world is still in crisis.

Jessie becomes increasingly certain that sacrificing her own life for a healthy baby is the most important thing she can do.
