A Warwick firefighter, Douglas Barlow, helps man who collapsed on field (Oct'23)

A Warwick firefighter is being hailed a hero for administering CPR on a man who he said went into cardiac arrest while playing baseball Sunday.
Douglas Barlow, 26, was off duty at the time. Barlow said his girlfriend's father asked him to play on a father-son baseball team together. The team was practicing at North Providence High School on Sunday when one person's dad had a medical emergency on the field.
"He was chugging from second base all the way home pretty fast," said Barlow.
Barlow said the man slowed down as he ran to home base.
"Next thing you know, I caught one more pitch, looked over, and saw him laying on the ground," he said.
