When we choose to obey God there are some good things we receive. Knowing about the benefits can help us determine if we are rightly aligned with God!

Does going to church mean you are obeying God?

God sent a prophecy through John, the disciple whom Jesus loved. There were more than 7 churches when John wrote the Book of Revelation, but God chose seven different types of churches as an examples for the time when Jesus would return.

A look at the Sardis type of church shows us the type of church matters. The book of life is referenced concerning this church and it is mentioned again, here:

But nothing that defiles or profanes or is unwashed shall ever enter it, nor anyone who commits abominations (unclean, detestable, morally repugnant things) or practices falsehood, but only those whose names are recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life. (Revelation 21:27)

The Book of Life is where are names are written when we take Jesus as Lord. This allows us to get into heaven. Can not obeying Jesus affect this?
