Police investigating murder-suicide in Columbia Township
Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies are investigating what they called a murder-suicide at the Heritage Hill Estates apartment complex at 8290 Wooster Pike. Deputies say they received 911 calls from several neighbors and found a man and a woman shot dead inside a vacant apartment at about 5:45 a.m. Wednesday. Nobody else was in the apartment or injured, police said. "He's shooting at her! Oh, Lord have mercy," a woman told the 911 dispatcher. According to the 911 calls, witnesses heard one gunshot and a woman screaming in the parking lot. That witness also reported seeing a white male pointing a gun at a white female on the ground before hearing two more gunshots. Deputies don't believe the pair lived in the complex, and they are uncertain why they were there or how they knew of a vacant apartment. They said it appeared they struggled in the parking lot behind the buildings, where the back door of a black SUV was left ajar and the woman's purse was dropped on the ground. No names or further details were immediately available.
