NASA missions rely on a vast communications network to get information to space and back again. We work hard to keep that information secure, accurate, and reliable.

Today you will simulate a successful data transmission. In teams of spacecraft (our data source), relay satellites (our transmission source), and scientists (our data translators), you'll work to ensure your message successfully makes it back to Earth. But be careful: space communication isn't as easy as a classroom discussion! You'll need to work with your team to overcome technical challenges and bring our space research back home.

Space Communications and Navigation (SCN) serves as the program office for all of NASA's space communications and navigation activities, presently enabling the success of more than 100 NASA and non-NASA missions. Learn more at www.nasa.gov/scan.
