Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and the largest planet in our solar system. It is a gas giant composed primarily of hydrogen and helium. Due to its massive size, Jupiter has a strong gravitational force, which has enabled it to accumulate 79 known moons, including the four large moons discovered by Galileo Galilei in 1610: Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. These four moons are known as the Galilean moons and are some of the most well-known and studied of Jupiter's many satellites.
