Every year K9 teams from across the country and all over the world head to Vohne Liche Kennels in Denver, Indiana, for the annual K9 Olympics - a week of competition, training and networking for working dogs and handlers. For 22 years, the K9 Olympics have provided police canines and military working dog teams the opportunity to continue their vital training in an environment of competition. With over 600 acres, Vohne Liche Kennels has an unparalleled facility for dog training, and the events at the Olympics are designed to simulate what working dogs and handlers might experience in the field.
Competition brings out the best in all of us, and K9 teams are no exception. But beyond the competitive events, the K9 Olympics are designed as a week of training.
Training and competition are just part of the K9 Olympic experience. It's also an opportunity to support one another and the K9 community. This year, we had the privilege of meeting Caleb Anderson, a young man who aspires to be a K9 handler when he grows up. Caleb has some challenging health issues, but his willingness to Fight Courageously inspires us all. In fact, he was named the K9 handler of the year at the 2021 K9 Olympics.
