California SOS, Shirley Weber has sent a letter to Shasta County Board of Supervisors threatening to take legal action should they not comply with recently enacted California AB969 (prohibiting hand counting of ballots).
"I expect that you will uphold your obligation to comply with the law. Failing that, my office stands ready to take any actions necessary to ensure that Shasta County conducts all elections in accordance with state law." --Shirley Weber
