The horrible diseases that ravaged throughout the 1800's Ohio

Sad but really fascinating to see on a tombstone the very second this child died. I have never in all my travels seen a tombstone that records so much detail of the death of an individual. I researched what may have caused this yound childs death. Here are a few possibilities in the 1800's. smallpox, cholera, typhus, dysentery, yellow fever, scarlet fever, syphilis, measles, malaria, diphtheria, consumption (tuberculosis), influenza and even more that could be mentioned. I personally believe it was Scarlet Fever. By 1840 scarlet fever had become the leading cause of death among the infectious diseases of childhood in the U.S., Great Britain, and Europe.
