A disabled 80-year-old gran has converted her living room into a Star Trek-style 'holodeck' to travel the world - using a state-of-the-art virtual reality headset.
Dorothy Howard spent £400 on an Oculus Rift kit after she was forced to pull out of her annual coach holiday to a knitting convention.
Mrs Howard, who suffers from spinal problems and arthritis, now uses the virtual reality kit to travel the globe.
Since she bought it three months ago she has visited the pyramids in Egypt, scuba-dived with whales and even blasted into space.
