BEAM, or the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module, is an experimental expandable habitat developed by Bigelow Aerospace and tested on the International Space Station (ISS) in collaboration with NASA. The BEAM module was designed to validate the technology for expandable habitats in space, potentially offering a more efficient and lightweight alternative to traditional rigid modules.

BEAM was launched to the ISS in 2016 and attached to the Tranquility module. After its installation, astronauts conducted a series of tests to evaluate its performance and structural integrity in the space environment. These tests included assessing its ability to withstand micrometeoroid impacts, radiation, temperature variations, and other environmental factors.
