The Mojave Air and Space Port was filled with law enforcement and secret service members as preparation began for the arrival of Vice President Mike Pence, Second Lady Karen Pence and Bakersfield Congressman and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy.  The group landed in Mojave around 2 p.m. and made their way into the building for a brief overview of what they would see on the tour.  The vice president didn't speak to the press very much on this stop, but did give some remarks during the overview.  He said Mojave Air and Space Port was very much a part of the infrastructure of American space exploration.  "We thank you for the contribution that Mojave air and space port contributes to American leadership in space and look forward to a very engaging day and a great partnership for many years to come." Vice President Pence said.
