Lansing City Council members discussed new amendments to an old medical marijuana ordinance at their meeting tonight. The council passed a new ordinance that was supposed to take effect over the weekend, but that new ordinance was put on hold after a group submitted petitions last Friday, asking for it to be put on the ballot for a public vote. Mayor Bernero says the old ordinance, which passed in 2011, is out of sync with current state law and needs to be changed. City Council members will discuss the amendments again at their meeting on October 30.
