Neglected Belgian Draft Horse with eye injury starts his new life after being dumped at a kill pen.

If you are new to our channel, On Friday March 17th, while scrolling through Facebook I came across a horse that was scheduled to ship on the next slaughter truck to Mexico. The reason this horse stood out to me was because he had suffered horrible abuse. His right eye was missing and he was never given medical attention as the kill pen photos showed his eye covered in dried blood. There was no way I was going to let this poor animal suffer further by going to a slaughter house! So, we rescued him!

On Tuesday, March 21st, Cory and I drove 6 hours to Kemp, TX to pick him and we drove him straight to the vets office to get the medical attention he needs. Since he was rescued on St. Patricks Day we decided to name him Lucky.

With all your generosity, support and kindness we raised $8200 so far for for Lucky's rescue, transport and medical care. We could not have rescued this horse and gotten him the medical attention he needs without your support. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!

This is an update video on Lucky, his vet appointment, medical care and the start of his new life full of love! Lucky has a long road ahead of him and can use all the prayers and support you can send his way!

We have had questions asking if we have an Amazon wish list to help with supplies for the horses. Now that the foundation is up and running we will be putting together an Amazon wish list. Ranchers Supply and HF&C have offered to help us with anyone wanting to send a gift of Alfa-Pro to the horses. When you call, tell them you are sending a gift to Fletcher Farms Amarillo and they will add the gifts to our account. Alfa Pro is $17.50 per 50lb. bag plus tax at Rancher Supply and $18.25 per bag at HF&C. WE go through about 2-1/2 bags per day to feed all the 8 horses. We also purchase hay and alfalfa from Ranchers Supply which is used to feed the horses and donkeys.
