Chapter 13: The Teacher

The Teacher is a lion, fierce and untamed. His prerogative is the Truth. He stalks the Enemy aggressively, ready to pounce. He is a triple-threat with beauty, brains, and brawn. His fearlessness, kindness, intelligence, humility, and integrity are a divergent enigma. Innocent as a dove but shrewd as a serpent, he is a conundrum that is wiser than human wisdom. He is a Jack of all trades, an adept master of some, and a jester’s parody of others. He is the Enemy’s worst nightmare manifested, persisting in the daylight as a dogged greyhound. His power is sourced from the Creator, but it is veiled to elude the Enemy’s eye by forming a fluctuating, unpredictable, and illusory target. His power is made perfect in weakness. When he appears weak, he is strong and powerful. He personifies the Creator’s words as a weapon more powerful than a double-edged sword in the grasp of the Creator’s right hand, a weapon forged and wielded for the finishing blow. He maneuvers strategically to throw the Enemy off-balance and then uses the Enemy’s own weight to render a stunning blow to the Enemy’s face as it is smashed into the pavement. He plunders the Enemy’s arsenal and turns the tide of war. An expert in the art of counter-attack, he deflects and then returns the Enemy’s own power at himself causing his devices to backfire into a self-defeating demise. He is small enough to fit between the gaps in the Enemy’s armor, but forceful enough to drive a nail through a strategic artery. Fair speech graces his lips. He is a gentleman and a scholar. He has his heel on the Enemy’s jugular, and he knows it. He leans forward and thrusts down his weight till the sound of cracking skull and bones ends the fight. An earthquake collapses the cracking brick wall until the Enemy is buried by his own masonry. The Teacher is an army of one but also the deciding vote. His words consume the Enemy with flaming fire singing a reverberating note.

Running from the Poor

Time to work time to play
Time and time again every day every day
It’s these cyclical cycles all in a line
That make up linear time.

We’re running there running here
Running nowhere running fear.
The world’s got us running, clear?
Slow down, stop… take the time to steer!

Building castles in the sand
Won’t save a life, useless hand,
With talents interred and heart avert,
While Mother, Brother dug in dirt.

Make mission mine, miles from mammon,
Fighting forever a freedom from famine.
Out of sight, out of mind, we are so blind.
Seek the forgotten, the forgotten find.

Listen… powerful prayers enduring the deathless night.
Crying out for heroes… calling them to fight.
Deaf warriors, running from their posts…
Chasing after nothing…empty ghosts!
