He wrote Reflections of a Russian Statesman and repudiated all forms of democratic reform, explicitly outlining how only a divinely legitimized absolute monarch can truly claim to represent the people of a nation. He tutored both Tsar Alexander III & his son Tsar St. Nicholas II and almost single handedly held back the tides of elite, liberal revolution for multiple decades.
