John Redfield, a Cholla Springs County Deputy and ex-outlaw shoots and kills a man who step foot on his property. He later finds out the man is in fact a zombie, and a zombie apocalypse has broken out. Undead freaks begin dominating the land, and Redfield must survive with Doctor Lee Hudson with which he discovers many survivors throughout the land.
