Gen Z: Bored by the Internet? — TWNow

The internet has had a major impact on our culture. From one end of the globe to the other, work and play is tethered to magical devices that sit on our desks, in our laps, in our palms or even on our wrists. Computers have changed the way the world works, and the internet has changed the way that we connect with each other, and ultimately how we think. The youngest members of our society are potentially more vulnerable to being influenced through the internet. Can we do anything as parents to protect our children from the “anything and everything” that lies at our children’s fingertips on their smart-phones and tablets?

On today’s program, Wallace Smith, Wyatt Ciesielka, and Mike DeSimone will focus on the powerful undertow of technology and the internet, but also challenge the notion that all is lost for our children--and by extension, all of us! In that sense, it’s not just one more hand-wringing, sky-is-falling diatribe against the younger generation and how they are addicted to the internet, but a glimpse of hope at how we can help our youth navigate one more hurdle of life--through guidelines provided by the Giver of that life. God, as Creator of all things, will not be “bested” by the Internet. The principles of life that He gives are timeless, and can help all of us overcome through the grace and truth that is In Christ Jesus.
