Filling In (4 violas arrangement)

By Earl Richard Drehmer, Sr.

This piece is a series of wrap-around 4-voice canons. The wrap-around is a favorite technique of mine where instead of starting the canon with a single voice, I start with all voices. The non-starting voices begin with the end of the materiel. The effect is that it helps to occlude the fact that it is a canon. The title refers to the technique of hocket. In this piece, for the most part each part of the beat has at least one note.
