Started in 2019 and finally finished in 2022, Green Jerry's "The Quest For The Candies" is a Halloween themed romhack about Dry Bowser, instead of trying to get his original body and form back, steals all the candy in the Mushroom Kingdom, preventing everyone from celebrating Halloween. Yes, apparently you can only celebrate the holiday by Trick or Treating and the costumes and horror movie nights are not nearly as important. Now, it's up to Mario to find all the candy and make sure Bowser stays dead this time!

Upon the Rotten Ruins, we learn that since we're about halfway through the romhack, the difficulty has spiked up. Not only has the platforming gotten harder, but we also encounter our first Ghost House of the hack, which is pretty crazy that it's taken a ghost house this far in a Halloween themed adventure to show up! We also deal with Pogo Skeletons and platforms that prank you by falling UP instead of down. At this point, Mario should have a fire flower at all times because it's been a godsend for dealing with the ghouls and zombies...
