Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu won this summer’s elections fair and square. That’s the verdict of the country’s Supreme Court which ruled against opposition claims of fraud. It brings to an end a legal saga that’s plagued Tinubu since coming to power in May. However, the ruling wasn’t without controversy. Judges refused fresh evidence questioning the president’s academic credentials. What’s more, the victory doesn’t mean it’s now plain sailing for Tinubu. He faces a tough future after his reforms failed to stem an economic crisis ravaging his country.
