Rep. Steil talks next steps for House GOP following election of Speaker Johnson

Representative Bryan Steil (R-WI) says he expects newly appointed House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to lead the Republican conference with a strong conservative agenda that includes government spending cuts and border security. “The position of Speaker of the House is probably one of the most difficult political positions in the entire world,” says Rep. Steil. “Pulling everyone together and unifying the conference is something that I think he can do, but that’s also going to be the challenge.”
