The F5 Tiger 2 was designed as a highly manoeuvrable, supersonic light fighter in the late 1950s. It first flew in 1959 and has been cruising the skies ever since, seeing frontline service and active combat with numerous air forces across the globe. However, the F-5 is perhaps most famous as an Air Force AGGRESSOR FIGHTER and as the mainstay of naval ADVERSARY SQUADRONS. Service in the letter reaching peak notoriety as part of the US Navy’s Fighter Weapons School: TOP GUN. For today’s AVIATION ART release, we present the F-5 in full adversary colours, of the type that appeared in the 1980s FIGHTER JET movie: TOP GUN, where the little fighter took on the role of the fictional MIG-28!
