Starmer’s Islamophobic actions are spiralling into a Labour crisis.

Keir Starmer's refusal to apologise for the hurt he's caused amongst Muslim communities is causing labour real harm.
Right, so the fallout from Keir Starmer’s appalling conduct over the last week isn’t going away, if anything it seems to be worsening. From advocating for war crimes to be committed by Israel in regards to withdrawing water and power from Gaza and quickly realising people didn’t like that, funnily enough some of us are actually human and all, resulting in him backpeddling, whilst still refusing to retract of apologise, because that appears to be beneath him. As if that wasn’t bad enough though, instead of apologising, he then set up a spur of the moment meeting with the South Wales Islamic Centre whilst on a trip to Wales, unplanned as we’ve subsequently found out, where he claimed in his own tweet, to have gone there and demanded the release of Hamas hostages, because somehow an Egyptian imam and the Muslim Community in Cardiff are somehow responsible for that, or is it just all Muslims Keir? Either way, he completely misrepresented his visit there to use them as political capital and he’s been caught out for that as well. The words, ‘I’m sorry’ still have not crossed his lips though and the damage is increasing. This is spiralling from what was an appalling incident into a full blown party crisis and still it appears Starmer is set on damage limitation, rather than acknowledging he himself was in any way at fault.
Right, so things are getting progressively worse for Keir Starmer in light of the Islamophobia crisis his party is currently embroiled in, a crisis he himself is chiefly responsible for and if he truly believed in taking responsibility for his own actions, he could probably have avoided all of this by now, but he doesn’t, the man’s arrogance is astonishing in light of what he’s been caught out with here. From saying Israel had the right to stop water and power going into the concentration camp known as the Gaza Strip, to rowing back on that as something he didn’t mean, to flat out denying he said it, Starmer’s reputation was looking ropey at best, not least because he was supposedly a human rights lawyer and ought to have known all of this, but what has made things even worse since, was his little stunt at the South Wales Islamic Centre, where he put out a tweet and pictures showing a good natured meeting between himself and the Muslim community there, only for Starmer to undermine all of that by claiming he went there and said he demanded the Israeli hostages being held by Hamas be released, which clearly isn’t the responsibility of people in South Wales and clearly isn’t the responsibility of all Muslim people, equally as bad as tarring all Jewish people with the crimes being committed by Netanyahu and his forces. It was racist, it was Islamophobic, he has caused massive distress to the South Wales Islamic Centre, not least the Egyptian imam who welcomed him, who was completely unaware of Starmer’s genocidal comments regarding water and power supplies to Gaza, but also could barely speak English and certainly couldn’t read it so Starmer pulled a fast one.
