The Ingham Intermediate School District is launching a program aimed at helping students with disabilities find a job. The district announced a partnership with the "Project Search" program on Monday. It gives students with mental disabilities a year long internship where they can gain skills and build a resume. Organizers say it give special needs students an opportunity to experience real work outside of the classroom. Students at the Ingham ISD will be interning with the State of Michigan for the next year. 75 percent of the students who graduate from the "Project Search" program are now employed.
