Building my first gaming pc with no experience
A gaming PC is a computer that is designed to run video games at high performance levels. Gaming PCs usually have powerful processors, graphics cards, memory, storage, cooling systems, and cases that allow them to run the latest and most demanding games smoothly and with high visual quality. Gaming PCs can also be used for other tasks, such as streaming, video editing, or web browsing, but their main purpose is to provide an immersive and enjoyable gaming experience.
There are many types of gaming PCs available in the market, ranging from budget-friendly to high-end models. Some of the factors that affect the price and performance of a gaming PC are:
- **CPU**: The central processing unit (CPU) is the brain of the computer that executes instructions and performs calculations. A faster and more powerful CPU can handle more complex and intensive tasks, such as running multiple programs at once, rendering graphics, or processing physics. Some of the popular CPU brands for gaming PCs are Intel and AMD, which offer different models and generations of processors with varying cores, threads, clock speeds, and cache sizes.
- **GPU**: The graphics processing unit (GPU) is the component that renders images and videos on the screen. A more powerful GPU can produce higher resolutions, frame rates, and graphical effects, such as shadows, reflections, or anti-aliasing. Some of the popular GPU brands for gaming PCs are NVIDIA and AMD, which offer different models and series of graphics cards with varying memory sizes, clock speeds, and architectures.
- **RAM**: The random access memory (RAM) is the temporary storage space that the computer uses to hold data and programs that are currently in use. More RAM can improve the performance and responsiveness of the computer, especially when running multiple programs or games that require a lot of memory. The amount and speed of RAM needed for a gaming PC depend on the type and complexity of the games being played, but generally 8GB to 16GB of DDR4 or DDR5 RAM is recommended.
- **Storage**: The storage device is where the computer stores data and programs permanently. There are two main types of storage devices for gaming PCs: hard disk drives (HDDs) and solid state drives (SSDs). HDDs have more capacity and are cheaper than SSDs, but they are slower and louder. SSDs have less capacity and are more expensive than HDDs, but they are faster and quieter.
