4,000-year-old rock becomes a “treasure map” for archaeologists

A previously overlooked stone bearing enigmatic inscriptions, which remained relatively unexamined for over 4,000 years, has now emerged as a valuable “treasure map” for archaeologists.

These experts are utilizing it to uncover ancient sites scattered throughout northwestern France.

This stone, known as the Saint-Belec slab, was unearthed at a burial site and, in 2021, acclaimed as Europe’s most ancient known map by researchers.

Since then, a dedicated team has been diligently engaged in deciphering its intricate markings, Yahoo News reported.
