Mars has a thin atmosphere composed mostly of carbon dioxide, with traces of nitrogen and argon. Its atmospheric pressure is about 0.6% of Earth's, leading to a very different climate than what we experience on our planet.

Mars experiences temperature extremes that can vary from about -195 degrees Fahrenheit (-125 degrees Celsius) at the poles during winter to 70 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius) near the equator during summer.

Mars is known for its frequent dust storms, some of which can grow to encompass the entire planet, lasting for weeks or even months. These storms can have a significant impact on the planet's climate and weather patterns.

Although liquid water cannot exist for long on the Martian surface due to the low atmospheric pressure, there are indications of water ice, both at the poles and beneath the surface in some regions.
