The Road of Death

The decisive event of the summer campaign of 2023 was the beginning of a large-scale offensive of the armed forces of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye direction. The plan of the AFU command provided for the main strike in the direction of Tokmak and further to Melitopol in order to cut the grouping of our troops into two parts and deprive the Crimea of a land transport corridor.

During the offensive, the Ukrainian troops had some progress, but got into the «fire ambush» of the Russian Armed Forces in the area of Rabocino. Attempts to expand the planned breakthrough in the direction of Verbovoye failed — as a result of numerous unsuccessful attacks, the enemy suffered significant losses in armored and automotive equipment.
