The Truth Above All. Earth. The terrestrial world. God is the creator of all things, the heavens and the earth (Gen. 1:1; 2 Mach 7:28). Earth is depicted by the ancients as being a flat disk surrounded by an abyss of waters, and held up by mighty pillars resting in the abyss. Earth is the dwelling palce for man. It was cursed on account of Adam's sin. All creatures await deliverance from this curse. At the consummation of the world, the earth shall be renewed and only the just shall henceforth dwell in it.
