DID JESUS REALLY MAKE & DRINK WINE?

To justify having the odd glass of the finest merlot or chardonnay, many Christians will often reference the wedding at Cana of Galilee, where Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding. Many will claim that there is nothing wrong with drinking a glass of wine every now and then. “After all, it’s only a glass, and it’s not like I’m getting drunk or anything.”

If you are one of those Christians who believe that Jesus made alcoholic wine, then you are treading on dangerous ground. Think about it: alcoholic wine is basically fermented grape juice. So you must ask yourself this question: What is the chief ingredient required to ferment grapes? That's right! It is yeast or leaven. In the Bible, leaven always represents a type of sin or false doctrine. Jesus turning water into wine destroys clear Biblical typology.
