This adorable video comes from the Cincinnati Zoo and it will most definitely melt your hearts.

This is the story of Fiona, a prematurely born baby Nile hippo. She was brought to the zoo three months earlier than expected to a seventeen year-old mom called Bibi. She is the first Nile hippo to be born in the zoo in 75 years and that makes her even more precious. Since she was too frail to stand on her own four feet, she was brought up by the zoo nursery staff until she could manage on her own.

Hippos are considered to be ones of the most dangerous animals in the world and it’s all due to their strength. They can crush their opponents in a matter of seconds despite their somewhat lazy appearance. These beasts thrive in the shallow mud pools on the African continent. They can hold their breath for a very long time, allowing them to float on the surface instead of swimming.

Fiona has already outgrown two of the pools she was nursed at, and she will definitely outgrow this one. This adorable creature is put into the pools to stimulate her natural habitat. Her parents are close-by so that she could hear and smell them so that she can feel more secure and she can get used to them. You should definitely see this not so tiny lady next time you visit the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.
