The lesson on October 22, 2023 was part 10 of the “Wisdom” study. Wayne opened with a brief comment on the hymnal song “Jesus is all the world to me”. It is amazing the we can be friends with God through the physical manifestation or Christ. He then provided a quick review of what we learned in the previous lesson where the personification of wisdom is female and was with God in the beginning and even before that! In chapter 9, we get Wisdom’s call out of chapter eight up to verse 12. The foolish woman starts in verse 13. In Prov. 9:1 we learn that wisdom built her house on seven pillars (seven being the number of spiritual perfection and completion) and ties in with seeing how 7 is used in James 3:17 and Revelation 1:4, 12 KJV. When you read Prov. 8:30 we see wisdom as on brought up with him. “Brought up with him” means like a chief architect. Her house is complete. In Prov. 9:2 we see wisdom setting a table for a celebration of God’s work that is perfect and complete. This ties in with our fellowship in the mystery in Eph. 2:10 where we are complete in him. Col. 1:25,26 says the mystery was given to complete the word of God. The lesson finishes with the foolish woman in Prov. 13:-18 where she is loudly murmuring, is simple, and knows nothing. Her ways are in the depths of hell.

The scripture reading was from Proverbs 9:1-12 KJV “1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars: 2 She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. 3 She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city, 4 Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, 5 Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled. 6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding. 7 He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. 8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. 9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. 11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased. 12 If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.”
