The Best Places for Your Fall Color Tour in Michigan 2023

Well, here it is, our final video from our fall color tour across the Michigan Upper Peninsula this year.

We headed up into the Western half of the Upper Peninsula to see if we could catch some pretty Autumn color and ended up somewhat disappointed. Never the less, we wanted to put together this short little video in 4k so you could get a feel for what the Upper Peninsula looks like in the fall.

Our filming started at the Mackinaw Bridge in Mackinaw city. We then worked out way over to the Rapid River Truck Trail just outside of the town of Rapid River. We took that forest road drive all the way to US 41. From there, we headed over to the Porcupine Mountain area of the Keweenaw Peninsula. The Keweenaw Peninsula hosts some of the most beautiful fall color displays in the entire United States.

While in the Porcupine Mountain area we spent time at Lake of the Clouds, Copper Peak and the Presque Inlet. Copper Peak is just south of the Lake of the Clouds area and quite pretty. It's a great place to see color.
The Presque is part of the Porcupine Mountain region. It's at the far southern region of the park.

We then worked our way up through Houghton to head all the way to the Brockway Mountain area stopping on Cliff Drive as well as the town or Calumet. A very rich in history copper mining town of old.

Near Calumet we enjoyed a stop at the famous Quincy Copper Mine. Rich in old history, it was a joy to tour.
From there, it was all the way up to Copper Harbor and the Brockway Mountain overlook.

On our way back down, we stayed over in a town called Pelkie for about 5 days and then headed through to Marquette and then to Munising before heading across the state down to US 2 to head out.

I would be remiss if we didn't stop through Cadillac on our way out of the state. The Cadillac area sports some of the most beautiful fall color in all of the lower peninsula. Michigan 115 from Cadillac all the way up to Mesik and then to the Sleeping Bear Dunes is a spectacular place to witness the fall splendor.

I hope as you watch this you are able to enjoy the fall colors as they display on your screens. It's our hope it brings you a little autumn peace and happiness if you can't or aren't able to get out on your own to see such wonderful sights.
