The PURPOSE behind PERSECUTION

Matthew 13 describes a heart condition called the stony ground, which receives the word of God with joy and excitement but when trials and hardship come it gives way to offense. God allows these things to come and test what still abides in our heart that is connected to the carnal nature and mind that must be crucified. Trials are meant to reveal what is contrary in us, as we humble ourselves and carry them to Christ as our high priest to cleanse and wash us.
