This is a POTA friendly park. I started off hunting today and had the required number of activation in 8 minutes thanks to the multiple 2 park activators and 1 5 park activators. I also used my headphones today. That is rare for me at activations. This park has more of an opportunity for visitors to see an activator than other parks in my jurisdiction. So I displayed my POTA flag. Guess what happened a school group came by for their snack break and sat at the surrounding tables. One of the adults ask me what I was doing as she pointed to my flag. I explained it to her and gave her one of my business cards. Told her the hobby was open to people of all ages and showed her the map I had of my contacts at that point.. one of the adults said he thought I was flying a drone. Great to have DX contacts in Canada, England, Belgium, Spain, Chile, Germany, and Poland. I am also enjoying QSOs with my regular US contacts. Isn’t it fun as you start to recognize regular contacts! After the activation I had purchased lunch at my favorite BBQ food truck Max’s Millstone BBQ & Catering Thanks for the hunters and P2P.
