CLEAN version - This is a how to make hot and sour soup guide by Ziangs Food Workshop and will teach you each step the best way to make Chinese hot and sour soup recipe. This is a more traditional version that the previous hot and sour soup we've shown on our channel. This version Chin and Choo aka me and mum, will be using classic Chinese cooking techniques in order to recrate this Chinese Takeaway dish, most takeaways won't be velveting the chicken before use, they'll use pre steamed or poached, which is fine but not traditional Chinese cooking at all, we thought this traditional Chinese dish deserves to be respected, so we used traditional cooking methods in the spirt of keeping it as close to the real thing as a takeaway would get.

This isn't the version of hot and sour soup we had in my families takeaway growing up, that was based on a tom yum paste, and I'll be honest I actually prefer the tom yum based version more, however that it isn't anything like actual Hot and Sour Soup 酸辣 汤 suānlà tāng.

This dish is more popular in Chinese takeout's in the US, but its getting very popular in the UK Chinese takeaway scene, yes its always been on the takeaway menus but its only the last 5 - 10 years where its really taken off.
