Alan Wilson obituary

e sad news today (31 August 2023) is that Alan Wilson has passed away. He was one of the most extraordinary and intelligent people I have ever met. Many would say he was eccentric but that to my way of thinking is often a complement. As an historian (he had a degree with History and Economics) his approach was both intuitive and forensic. I think of him as the last of the Welsh bards. It's not that he was a poet but rather he championed the traditional history of these islands, a subject that few people know even exists. He, along with his faithful colleague and friend, Tony 'Baram' Blackett, made many discoveries and wrote about these in numerous books. I suspect these will, in future times, be collectors' items. I wish him well in his journey now to the great unknown. I feel sure he will be greeted there with open arms.
