House GOP in Search of New Speaker Nominee after Jim Jordan lost third vote

On Friday, Republican lawmakers made the decision to withdraw Rep. Jim Jordan as their candidate for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, following his third unsuccessful attempt to secure the position.

The GOP’s next nominee and their chances of gathering enough votes to become the Speaker remain uncertain.

The House has been without a leader for more than two weeks, and no clear resolution is in sight as Congress approaches a deadline to avert a government shutdown, and the White House presses for immediate security assistance for Israel, CNBC reported.
