The vitamin K shot they give newborns has been poisoning our babies for decades.

The Dane Henrik Dam discovered vitamin K (after"Koagulation") after studying cholesterol metabolism of chicks carried out during the years 1928-1930 at the Biochemical Institute of the University of Copenhagen.

At that time, as none of the previously known vitamins (e.g. vitamins A, C and D) could prevent coagulation disorders, Dam postulated a new fat-soluble vitamin that regulates coagulation. In the decade that followed, the principal K vitamers, phylloquinone and the menaquinones, were isolated and fully characterized.
