Tommy Sablan is the first radio producer inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame. He is better known by his San Diego on-air moniker “Little Tommy,” and for decades, has entertained millions of people on radio and now television.
He's popular in Southern California because of his kindness, volunteerism, and knack for creating charitable events — But, beyond the scope of entertainment, the Chula Vista native is a man who lives his life helping others.
In this film, Tommy is candid and shares some emotional ups and downs about his life. Meet "Little Tommy."

Laura Castañeda is an award-winning bilingual journalist, producer, documentary filmmaker, media instructor, mentor, and Deputy Editor at The San Diego Union-Tribune. Boards of directors including The San Diego Press Club, CCNMA, Latino Journalists of California, and UNITY Journalists of Color.

The documentary screens as part of the LOCAL SPOTLIGHT package of shorts from locals on 11/9 at 10 a.m. in the Winn Room at the Coronado Library.
