Are Your "Friends" Not Listening to You?

In this world of social media and opinions, it's amazing how quickly we forget how powerful it is in a friendship or relationship to show someone how much you care about them. It can be as simple as asking the question, "How are You?" and lending your ear to listen to someone who may have been feeling alone or like no one cared about them. Validation is such an incredible tool to build friendships and restore relationships. But the real friendship that is God-given and made for us, is a SELFLESS friendship, which means you care more about that person than you care about sharing your own life first. If we cared for each other, no one would be alone.

Remember even in marriage or dating relationships, it is important to focus on your partner, but even beyond that, to have friends outside of your partner that can help carry your burdens so you don't lay them all on that person that you love. We can't live life alone, but we need to do it selflessly. Invest in others, and if they invest in you, they are your real friends, everyone else simply remains an acquaintance.

How do you start? Ask someone out, to hang out. You may be surprised to learn that it may have been the first time in years that they had been asked.
